North Carolina Traffic Stop Reporting Program

Program Ended

Effective immediately, local law enforcement agencies across North Carolina shall no longer submit data to the North Carolina Traffic Stop Reporting Program.

In Session Law 2026-41 (2026 Appropriations Act), the North Carolina General Assembly repealed the law enforcement traffic statistics report. Section 19.4.(a) of the bill repealed N.C.G.S. ยง 143B-903. This legislative change eliminates the statutory mandate that required all local municipal police departments and county sheriffs' offices to collect, correlate, and submit demographic and circumstantial statistics on routine traffic stops.
